Anna Boroń - Kaczmarska graduated from the Medical Faculty of the Medical University of Białystok. She has specialization in infectious diseases and public health as well as first-degree specialization in internal medicine and medical microbiology.
Research interests: epidemiology, clinical aspects and treatment of selected diseases with a particular focus on viral hepatitis B or C, HIV infection and AIDS. As regards research on the pathomechanism of chronic viral infections she participated in the genetic analyses of HIV, HCV. As a member of the Polish HCV and HBV Expert Group she actively participated in development of annual therapeutic recommendations. She is a member of Polish and world medical associations.
Currently she is the chair of the Polish Scientific Association "Threats of Civilization and Public Health". She is an author and co-author of 300 publications as well as monographs and chapters of textbooks.
