Prof. Marek Jarema, MD, Ph.D

Medical specialist in psychiatry and neurology, served as the National Consultant of the Minister of Health in psychiatry. Expert in the diagnosis and pharmacotherapy of mental disorders. Head of the 3rd Department of Psychiatry at the Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology in Warsaw since 1993. Completed international medical fellowship programs in Austria, the USA, Spain, and Italy. Supervisor of numerous PhD dissertations. Member of the Polish Psychiatric Association PTP, former Secretary and Treasurer of PTP Executive Board.  Member of Program Councils of a number of scientific journals. Academic teacher and forensic psychiatry expert with many years of experience.
Author of over 300 scientific publications. Editor of the Polish edition of pharmacotherapy standards in mental disorders. Co-editor of a textbook of psychiatry for medical students. Graduate of the Faculty of Medicine of the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin. Former psychiatrist at the Department of Psychiatry at the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin. A PhD degree in medical sciences obtained in 1974, and a post-doctoral degree in medical sciences in 1986. In 1994, he was nominated a professor by the President of the Republic of Poland.
Former assistant teacher, senior assistant and assistant professor at the Department of Psychiatry at the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin, and former Head of the Independent Division of Psychopathology at the Institute of Nervous System Diseases of the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin. Head of the 3rd Department of Psychiatry of the Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology in Warsaw since 1993.
