MD, PhD Łukasz Matusiak – assistant professor at the Department of Dermatology, Venereology and Allergology of the Medical University of Wrocław, member of the Polish Dermatological Society, member of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, member of the European Society for Dermatological Research and International Society of Dermatology.
He authored and co-authored over 50 scientific publications, including over 30 original and case reports, 15 review papers and 8 chapters in summary publications. He participated in many national and foreign scientific conferences (including in Spain, France, the Netherlands, Italy, Portugal, Switzerland, Germany, South Korea, USA, Canada, etc.), where he presented over 70 congress reports. Since 2008 he has been a translator of the Polish edition of "Journal Watch Dermatology" and a reviewer of significant international journals included in the so called Master Journal List ("Acta Dermato-Venereologica", "Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology", "Dermatologic Surgery", etc.). In the same year he successfully defended his dissertation for the degree of a doctor of medical sciences. The dissertation was awarded a distinction by the Polish Dermatological Society and the Faculty of Postgraduate Medical Training of the Medical University of Wrocław. In 2009 he received the award of the Rector of the Medical University of Wrocław for important and creative achievements in research and scientific work. In October 2010, he passed the specialization exam with distinction in dermatology and venereology.
For many years he has been engaged in the work with patients suffering from psoriasis, which is evidenced by a diploma for scientific and clinical work for the benefit of people suffering from psoriasis awarded by the Polish Dermatological Society in the professor Zdzisław Ruszczak Competition in 2011 and a diploma for involvement in creation of a record of patients suffering from psoriasis POLBIO awarded also by the Polish Dermatological Society in the subsequent year. Moreover, he is an active member and one of the founders of the European Hidradenitis Suppurativa Foundation e.V, – an organisation that brings broad support to patients affected by acne inversa. Main interests, apart from the above-mentioned dermatoses, include also: acne, rosacea, atopic dermatitis, skin cancer, diseases of hair and psychodermatology.
