Jerzy Samochowiec, professor in psychiatry since 2004, specialist in psychiatry since 1997, certified psychitherapeutist since 2008. Alexander von Humboldt fellowship (1996-1999) at University of Berlin. Head of Department of Psychiatry in Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin since 2004, Regional Consultant in Psychiatry in West- Pomeranian Region since 2005. His main scientific topics are: genetics of addictions, depression, anxiety disorders, ADHD, pharmacogenetics of schizophrenia, first episode of psychosis. He promoted 14 Ph.D. and took care of 5 habilitations at his Department.
Publications: over 240 positions in Polish, English and German language (Hirsch Index 21, over 1400 citations). Member of Editor board of: Progress in Neuro-Psychopharmacology and Biological Psychiatry, Psychiatria Polska, Alkohol i Narkomania (Alcohol and Drug Dependence), Psychiatria po Dyplomie (Postgraduate Psychiatry).
Rector for scientific affairs at Pomeranian Medical University since 2012. Since 2007 President of Psychiatric Genetics Section of Polish Psychiatric Association. Member of European Society on Biological Research on Alcoholism Board 2009-2013. Since 2010 Vice-president of Polish Psychiatric Association (PTP). Official representative of PTP at NPA EPA. In 2015 – he will be the member of the EPA Board.
