prof. Andrzej Sikorski was born in the spring, two days after the end of World War II in Kalisz. He graduated from the high school in 1963 and afterwards completed his medical studies at the Military Medical Academy.He started working as a research worker at WAM where he went through further academic degrees from doctor to habilitated doctor and from assistant to docent. Being a lieutenant colonel, due to his politically unrelated union with Solidarity, he was released from the army. After winning the competition for the head of the Clinic and then the Urology Department of the Pomeranian Medical Academy in Szczecin (later Pomeranian Medical University) professor Andrzej Sikorski was running it for 27 years continuously. Here he received a professor's nomination . He educated eminent specialists, a dozen or so doctors and one habilitated doctor. He published at least 200 scientific papers and monographs.

Andrzej Sikorski likes to play the piano, to sail, to ski and to dive as well
His wife has benn a painter for 45 years now. He has two daughters ( one is an urologist) and four grandchildren.
Fanatic of surgical urology, but always reminds: "surgery can not be more dangerous than disease".
