Doktor Dorota Zarębska-Michaluk was born in 1968 in Białystok. In 1992 she graduated with distinction from the Faculty of Medicine of the Medical University of Białystok. After internship in the Provincial Hospital in Białystok, she started work at the Regional Outpatient Clinic and Internal Medicine Department of the Municipal Hospital in Kielce. Since 1995 she has worked as an assistant at the Infectious Diseases Department of the Regional Hospital in Kielce. In 1997 she obtained the first-degree specialization in internal medicine, and in 2001 the second-degree specialization in infectious diseases (both exams passed with distinction). In 2006 she obtained the doctor of medical sciences degree on the basis of the doctoral dissertation "Extrahepatic manifestations in patients with chronic hepatitis C".
Professionally she deals with the treatment of patients chronically infected with HBV and HCV hepatotropic viruses. In addition, since 1998 she has been involved as a researcher in clinical trials of phase II and III in the scope of chronic hepatitis B and C therapy. She is a member of the Polish Hepatology Society (since 2013 a member of the Audit Committee of the Main Board) and the Polish Society of Epidemiologists and Infectious Diseases Physicians (since 2012 the chair of the Department in Kielce).
