Professor Szegedi was specialized in Dermatology and in Clinical Immunology and Allergology. She spent 18 months with a scientific scholarship in New York, in the Mount Sinai School of Medicine and also short visits in Dermatological Clinics in Scotland, Switzerland and in the USA. She defended her Ph.D. thesis in 1996 and in 2009 defended the doctoral thesis of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. The main interests of her scientific work are immune mediated skin diseases and the skin immune system. The number of her „in extenso”, articles are 142 (57 in English language), her cumulative impact factor is 155 and the number of citations are 1213. She is the author of several sections in different Hungarian and international textbooks and two pocket books on dermatological allergology and psoriasis. She was the Secretary in General and now the President of the Hungarian Dermatological Society. She is also the member of the Board of the Hungarian Society of Allergology and Clinical Immunology and member of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology and the European Society of Dermatological Research. In 2015 she received the Academic Leader Award of the European Society of Dermatological Research. She was the supervisor of 4 PhD thesis and currently 6 PhD students and 2 postdocs are working in her scientific research group.
